Graceful Conduct, Organized Discipline & Education
At 15 years old, Lawrence Goshon was tried as an adult in the state of Colorado. He stood before a courtroom facing 104 years. He was sentenced to 10 — and served 7½ inside the Colorado Department of Corrections.
Most people would have let that define them. Lawrence refused.
When he came home, Lawrence didn't walk into opportunity — he built it from the ground floor, literally. He started as a janitor at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, showing up every day with the same discipline the system tried to break out of him. When an opportunity arose to transition into a database administrator role for HMIS (Homeless Management Information System), Lawrence didn't hesitate — even with zero prior database experience. Where others saw a gap in his résumé, Lawrence saw a door. He walked through it.
That role ignited something unexpected: a deep passion for data systems and their power to change lives. For the first time, Lawrence could see how information — organized the right way — could be the difference between someone getting help and someone falling through the cracks.
But data alone wasn't enough. Lawrence knew the streets he came from, and he knew the young people still trapped in them. A chance encounter with a respected community leader pushed him to channel everything he had survived into something bigger. Lawrence stepped into the world of Gang Prevention and dedicated himself to helping youth and adults find real alternatives to gang life and violence. He worked with programs like AGRIP (Aurora's Gang Reduction Impact Program) and AIM (At Risk Intervention and Mentoring) — serving as an advocate, mentor, and the kind of example that no textbook could teach. He walked into rooms where nobody believed change was possible and showed them what it looks like in person.
Through years of frontline work — as a case manager, a mentor, and a data professional — Lawrence witnessed the same painful reality at every nonprofit: scattered spreadsheets, disconnected tools, burned-out staff buried under administrative chaos, and the people who needed help the most slipping through the cracks. He knew the problem because he had lived it from every angle — as the young person caught up in the system, as the case manager trying to serve people just like him, and as the data professional trying to make sense of it all.
And he decided that if no one was going to build the right solution, he would.
Starting with nothing but vision and determination, Lawrence taught himself to code and began building a platform from the ground up — not designed by Silicon Valley consultants, but by someone who had sat across the desk from a person in crisis and understood what that moment required.
The result is G-Code Systems — a comprehensive platform purpose-built for how nonprofits actually work. It combines CRM, case management, HIPAA-compliant data handling, fund accounting, and workforce tools into one unified system, eliminating the operational gaps that hold mission-driven organizations back.
Today, G-Code Systems serves organizations across the nonprofit sector, and Lawrence continues to build with the same energy that carried him through every chapter of his life — the belief that where you've been doesn't define where you're going, and that the people closest to the problem are always the ones best equipped to solve it.
“If you've ever been counted out, written off, or told your past disqualifies you from your future — Lawrence's story is your proof that it doesn't.”
And if your organization is still fighting spreadsheets instead of fighting for your mission — G-Code Systems was built for you, by someone who understands exactly what's at stake.
